Christina “Tina” Carroll, APR
Carroll & Company president and chief communications officer, Tina Carroll started her career as a contractor providing marketing and communications services including script writing, producing, directing, event planning and video shooting and editing for training and corporate communication clients. For more than 25 years she has worked with private-sector retail, banking, insurance and healthcare organizations. But Tina’s real passion is in the public sector. Tina and her colleagues are known for effective creative and management exhibited in their work with the Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Defense, Health Resource Services Administration (HRSA), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC) and the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP).
Tina has successfully directed web projects that required security clearance, including C&A, academic content development and an engaging, creative approach. Her record includes highly rated performance appraisals, all of which indicated both she and her staff did-the-job exceptionally well. (These reports earned ratings of 95%+ submitted by federal contracting officers.)
Through Carroll & Company, Tina has worked with award-winning artists, creative visionaries and public health professionals who share her vision. Some of Carroll & Company’s key associates include the following.
Carolyn Green
Carolyn has more than 25 years of experience providing public relations, content writing, project management, and outreach services for clients including St. Louis Regional Airport, St. Louis Community Credit Union, the American Council of Engineering Companies Business Insurance Trust, the Vanderbilt University Public Policy Center’s Child and Family Policy Center, and Primary Marking Systems where she works on evidence tracking products for criminal justice.
Carolyn has held a number of positions with nonprofit organizations throughout her career including vice president of Marketing & Campaigns for Community Health Charities of Kansas and Missouri. In this position, Carolyn led 37 St. Louis health-related nonprofits in a collaborative effort to develop new funding. She recruited members and built awareness of the organization within the health, nonprofit, and corporate communities and wrote communications for member agencies, and potential donors during giving campaigns.
Always an interest to her, Carolyn chose domestic violence as the topic of her thesis when she was finishing her Master of Arts in Journalism from Indiana University. To support her paper, she tracked domestic battery charges through the county courts for one year and told the stories of all involved bringing much needed attention to this social issue.
Carolyn partners with Carroll & Company to provide project management and senior writing services.
Christopher Kuban
Chris has over 25 years of political, non-profit, corporate, and community relations experience. In St. Louis, this includes managing PR and media relations for the build of Ballwin Police Officer Michael Flamion’s specially adapted smart home. Since 2011, Chris has produced and managed public relations (PR) for over 160 high profile media events with the Gary Sinise Foundation from groundbreaking and dedication ceremonies, Walls of Honor events and Lt. Dan Band Concerts.
In 2017, Chris coordinated the public relations for Fabick Cat’s 100th Anniversary celebration. Leveraging Vice President Pence’s visit to Fabick Cat’s Fenton, Missouri corporate headquarters, and his local media relationships, Chris was able to place the Fabick Cat Company as the featured story in four separate news segments across all three St. Louis television stations. Because of Chris’ experience and media relationships, the news stories focused on Fabick’s growth as a St. Louis small business spanning five generations. The vice president’s visit became the secondary story.
Chris and his company Chemistry PR & Multimedia partner with Carroll & Company to support media relations services.
Nancy Zurbuchen
A graphic artist at heart, Nancy Zurbuchen has achieved a notable record for innovation and outstanding business performance during her many years as an entrepreneur. Following four years at Hallmark Cards, Inc. in Kansas City, MO where she was a print production artist and art director, Nancy left the corporate world to launch Communication by Design. Her first company, was an advertising agency providing logo and graphic design services, ad placement, and print design and purchasing for flexo, offset, embossing, foil stamp, and digital. She has frequently been an early adopter of technology in her businesses. Recognizing a market niche opportunity unfolding in technology, Nancy founded her second company, Motional Images, which was a pioneer in the creation of interactive training, CD-ROM development, and video graphics. This award-winning company was the first in the region to provide computer-generated 3-D animation for TV commercials and special effects. Nancy sold it to her largest client, and then formed her current marketing communications company, Motional Multimedia, which specializes in serving the business-to-business market segment.
Nancy partners with Carroll & Company Communications to develop and deliver strategic planning and implementation, website user interface design and development; database application planning and development; search phrase optimization of websites; and campaign development (including grassroots advocacy, B2B promotions, and public information campaigns.)
